History

Part of the New Zealand site was sold by WDDC for development and is now occupied by 15 houses. The remaining portion has been transferred to Bridport Town Council who wish to preserve it as a public green space.

In the 2012/13 Bridport Town Annual Report it was recommended that a steering committee was formed to enable this on behalf of the council; and this duly happened at a public meeting attended by interested local residents. A number of meetings of the committee have been held subsequently.
